FAIR's Response to Sen. Charles Schumer's Seven Point Plan for So-Called 'Comprehensive Immigration Reform'
In advance of the White House summit on immigration, Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), chairman of Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration, Border Security and Refugees, issued a seven point plan for reforming America's immigration policies. Unfortunately, Sen. Schumer's plan is short on details and even shorter on protections of the vital interests of the American people. Canadian Experience Class Now Open for Canadian Immigration Applicants
As of September 17, 2008, Citizenship and Immigration Canada is accepting applications for the newest category of Canadian immigration, the Canadian Experience Class (http://www.canadavisa.com/canadian-experience-class.html). This fast-track option for temporary foreign workers and international graduates is a good news story in the Canadian immigration arena, says Canadian immigration lawyer David Cohen. These temporary residents can now more easily transition to Permanent Residents and, eventually Canadian citizens.
